A rematch of the 2013 semi-final between the Broncos and Roar, which saw the sides meet in a final at the SCG, has been called off due to rain.
Broncos coach Brad Arthur confirmed the postponement after the game at Suncorp Stadium.
“It’s a disappointing day for the Broncos.
We were hoping to get a final and have a chance to play again,” Arthur said.”
We had a lot of preparation to do to get ready for this game, and we were not ready.
It’s not the kind of game we want to play.
We’ve got to do a lot better to be able to come here.”
Roar coach Graham Arnold said he did not know what had gone wrong.
“I don’t know what’s happened, it’s disappointing for the players and the coaching staff,” he said.
Bronco coach Brad Archer has revealed the final will be played at the MCG, after the final was postponed due to heavy rain.
“There was a lot to play for this final, and it’s just not the way we wanted to go,” he told reporters.
“This is an important game, we’re in finals and we’re going to have to get through this game.”
The Roar beat the Broncos, 14-12, in Brisbane last season.
