NIKOS training shoes are to make the rounds at Calgary’s Expo 2015, a show for young designers and fashion icons.
The shoes are part of a collection designed by designer and producer Lauren Ainsworth that includes her footwear and accessories.
Ainswicks’ collection features collaborations with fashion brands such as Nautica, Puma, Adidas and Calvin Klein.
Ainsworth said the collection was inspired by the Calgary Expo, where she designed shoes for some of the industry’s biggest names.
“I was inspired to do something different from the norm, so I decided to go for something a little more playful, a little different from everything that’s going on now,” said Ainsworthy.
“There’s so many trainers out there that are kind of too comfortable, too much of a trainer, and I wanted to try something different.”
The trainers are like my everyday shoes, and they’re all different sizes, so there’s a little bit of everything.
“They’re all about creativity and they all have a certain amount of the things you can do with them that I can’t do.”
You can wear a size 14, and you can wear it with a size 15, and it’s so versatile.
“Ainswells collection will be available for pre-order on July 11, with a full retail release planned for later this summer.
