A train carrying about 2,000 people from the city to the capital of the neighbouring state of Bihar is leaving at 11:30 a.m. today.
The journey is expected to take about three hours.
The train, which is equipped with electric trains, is scheduled to arrive in the city at 1 p.m., a little more than 24 hours after it left the capital.
The journey is part of a pilot project by the Central Railways to improve passenger safety, and is being run by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC).
The pilot project has been under the scanner for a year and a half.
